An exciting permanent opportunity has opened for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic, specialist building services consultancy at their Nottingham office. This full-time role offers 36.25 hours per week within an agile working framework, blending office and remote working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical engineering projects, managing design delivery from start to finish
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project outcomes
  • Attend principal client meetings and deliver presentations
  • Mentor junior engineers and oversee their contributions
  • Maintain high standards of technical excellence in mechanical design
  • Engage with clients directly, supporting business growth and repeat work
  • Produce and review detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant British and European standards and Building Regulations

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered or working towards) or HNC/HND with relevant experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Relux/Dialux, Amtech, and Revit
  • Strong knowledge of British and European Standards and Building Regulations
  • Familiarity with HTM's is advantageous
  • Professional membership with CIBSE or IET preferred
  • Understanding of HV/LV systems and embedded generation integration
  • Experience specifying renewable technologies and working knowledge of BREEAM
  • Good appreciation of electrical engineering to collaborate effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and development
