A local council in Manchester is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to manage mechanical design and project delivery for various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have relevant engineering qualifications and extensive experience in construction, along with a successful track record in project management. The position offers a full-time temporary contract with generous benefits including holiday allowance and a robust pension scheme.

Casual Car Documentation-The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use. Qualification - An engineering degree (CEng/IEng ) or an HNC/D or have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and gained 5 - years post qualification experience. We wish to recruit an experienced mechanical engineer, with proven construction experience, to join a dynamic service that delivers a complex programme of construction projects on behalf of Manchester City Council. This Senior Mechanical Engineer appointment will contribute to the ongoing growth, delivery, and strategic development of the city.You will also have knowledge of new installations, NBS specification software or other similar packages, calculations, and feasibility studies on all types of buildings. Additionally, you will also possess a good working knowledge of building and planning legislation, Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, CAD software systems and relevant commercial and contractual experience.
The successful candidates will either have a relevant accredited engineering degree (CEng/IEng ) or an HNC/D and working towards a degree (CEng/IEng) or have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and gained 5 - years post qualification experience.
