Job Overview

We are looking for experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our client's expanding team for a major project in Amsterdam. The successful candidates will support the mechanical delivery aspects of the project, working closely with the wider project team to ensure successful execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mechanical design reviews, identifying gaps, deviations, or contradictions in specifications and IFC drawings.
  • Generate detailed RFIs to resolve design ambiguities or potential issues.
  • Validate equipment sizing (e.g., ductwork, pipework), providing recommendations when necessary.
  • Oversee the submittal approvals process, track procurement and delivery of mechanical equipment, and verify delivery.
  • Perform system walk-downs to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and management systems.
  • Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines and the project BIM team.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to subcontracted staff throughout the project.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with site and project requirements, including health & safety standards.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities.
  • Work with the project team to sequence the installation of mechanical systems efficiently and safely.
  • Apply troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve problems.
  • Manage document control to keep all logs and records up to date.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Degree in Mechanical Engineering). Trade qualifications are an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the mechanical and electrical contracting sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems in data center environments.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with contractors on-site.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
