Job summary

Ramboll in London is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver detailed MEP designs within a multidisciplinary team. You will lead your discipline on projects, supervise junior engineers, and maintain high standards of client service across complex building schemes.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Engineer with proven track record in discipline.
  • CIBSE/IET/IMechE accredited honours degree or HNC with commitment to further education.
  • Working towards IEng or CEng status.
  • Ability to work with initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects.
  • Inspire confidence and strengthen client relationships.
  • Excellent communicator; able to simplify complex concepts.
  • Interest in digital and parametric design tools.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Ramboll on MEP projects and lead your own discipline.

You will join our multi-disciplinary London Buildings Engineering design team
Our London Buildings Engineering design team works across a global portfolio of major complex projects encompassing sectors such as Aviation, Commercial, Data Centres and Rail. As a [Senior Engineer/ Principal Engineer] you will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary (Building Services, Structures, Project/Design Managers, Critical Systems) Engineering team. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines and also be responsible for mentoring and developing the careers of junior engineering team members.

The ideal candidate is a Chartered Engineer with a demonstrable record of delivery on major, complex building projects; and is highly effective when working in a multidisciplinary design environment.

Your new role

As our new Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be working as part of a team, you will be expected to manage your own project work, undertake detailed design to the required standards and to maintain excellent levels of client service.

You will be part of a team which has a strong focus on technical delivery and an excellent understanding of client care. You will be an important part of a close-knit team working on a wide variety of project work in. There is also the opportunity to get involved in international signature projects if desired. We have a supporting and collaborative culture and enjoy what we do! Your key responsibilities will be:

  • To take a key role representing Ramboll on MEP projects leading your own discipline and (for suitably sized projects) also managing engineers of a complimentary discipline
  • Able to work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role
  • Complete detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function
  • Have an ability to inspire confidence both internally and externally, and then use this to strengthen client relationships
  • Manage time on projects to suit deadlines and complete their assigned tasks
  • Where they are the Ramboll project manager, co-ordinate the tasks so all deadlines are met and allocate resource appropriately

  • Being a qualified Engineer having a proven and demonstrable track record in their discipline
