Ramboll's London Buildings Engineering design team is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver detailed designs, manage projects and sustain client relationships on complex building schemes.

You will mentor junior engineers, work across multidisciplinary teams, and have opportunities to contribute to international signature projects, with a culture focused on digital and parametric design. Ramboll offers development, flexibility, and a supportive environment.

Qualificações

  • Qualified engineer with a proven track record in the discipline.
  • Accredited honours degree or equivalent with commitment to further education.
  • Working towards professional status (IEng/CEng) is expected.
  • Strong initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects.

You will join our multi-disciplinary London Buildings Engineering design team Our London Buildings Engineering design team works across a global portfolio of major complex projects encompassing sectors such as Aviation, Commercial, Data Centres and Rail. As a [Senior Engineer/ Principal Engineer] you will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary (Building Services, Structures, Project/Design Managers, Critical Systems) Engineering team. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines and also be responsible for mentoring and developing the careers of junior engineering team members.

The ideal candidate is a Chartered Engineer with a demonstrable record of delivery on major, complex building projects; and is highly effective when working in a multidisciplinary design environment.

Your new role

As our new Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be working as part of a team, you will be expected to manage your own project work, undertake detailed design to the required standards and to maintain excellent levels of client service.

You will be part of a team which has a strong focus on technical delivery and an excellent understanding of client care. You will be an important part of a close-knit team working on a wide variety of project work in. There is also the opportunity to get involved in international signature projects if desired. We have a supporting and collaborative culture and enjoy what we do! Your key responsibilities will be:

  • To take a key role representing Ramboll on MEP projects leading your own discipline and (for suitably sized projects) also managing engineers of a complimentary discipline
  • Able to work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role
  • Complete detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function
  • Have an ability to inspire confidence both internally and externally, and then use this to strengthen client relationships
  • Manage time on projects to suit deadlines and complete their assigned tasks
  • Where they are the Ramboll project manager, co-ordinate the tasks so all deadlines are met and allocate resource appropriately

  • Being a qualified Engineer having a proven and demonstrable track record in their discipline
  • Having a CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree, or an HNC in an applicable discipline with commitment to continue with higher education.
  • To have achieved or working towards IEng or CEng status
  • Able to work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role
  • Able to inspire confidence both internally and externally, and then use this to strengthen client relationships
  • To be an excellent communicator and possess to the ability to make what is complicated simple
  • To have an interest in or experience using digital and parametric design tools
