Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on technically challenging aerospace products, including avionics and engine sensors, within a collaborative team focused on innovation, quality and continuous improvement. You will own design activities across the full product lifecycle, manage requirements, verify engineering outputs, and mentor colleagues.

We're working with a well-established aerospace engineering organisation looking to add a Senior Mechanical Engineer to their team. This Senior Mechanical Engineer role offers the opportunity to join a company known for developing advanced avionics products and engine sensing technologies for the aerospace sector. You'll be joining a collaborative engineering environment where innovation, quality and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything they do.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll work across the full product development lifecycle, taking ownership of design activities while supporting colleagues and driving engineering excellence.

Role and Responsibilities

• Managing requirements, demonstrating compliance and supporting verification activities


• Supporting Mechanical Engineers across cross-functional engineering projects


• Designing and developing avionics products and engine sensors throughout the product lifecycle


• Producing work estimates and supporting project planning activities

Key Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain any security clearances required for the role


• UK National status is required due to project and security restrictions


• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience


• Experience authoring, validating and verifying engineering requirements


• Previous experience leading or mentoring Mechanical Engineers


• Strong 3D CAD and 2D draughting experience, ideally using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor


• Experience with GD&T, Design FMEA and engineering change management
