Job summary

Platform Recruitment in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead concept-to-production development of precision mechanical systems for next-generation medical devices. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, driving designs through feasibility, prototyping, and scale-up for high-volume manufacture.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, strong 3D CAD skills, and knowledge of injection moulding and tolerance analysis.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Strong 3D CAD skills and experience developing medical devices
• Knowledge of injection moulding and high-volume manufacturing processes
• Understanding of precision mechanisms and tolerance analysis
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple technical workstreams

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of designs from concept through to production
• Develop precision mechanical components and assemblies
• Produce 3D CAD drawings and supporting documentation
• Support prototype builds, testing, and engineering investigations
• Apply DFM and DFA principles to optimize designs for scalable production

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands–on Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative technology company developing cutting–edge medical devices. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in the development of precision mechanical systems for next–generation drug delivery products, taking designs from early–stage concepts through to high–volume manufacture
