Senior Mechanical Engineer – Utilities to join
PM Group working for us based out of
any of our UK offices.
Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Utilities
Location: Birmingham, Manchester, or Edinburgh
Contract: Full Time – Permanent
Responsibilities- Design coordination of gas projects, working with our clients to deliver the project scope.
- Coordinate all disciplines involved in delivery while taking the lead on the Mechanical Design.
- Support projects undertaken by other team members, providing technical support or reviewing project documentation.
- Adhere to relevant UK and international gas industry design codes such as IGEM/TD/1, TD/12, TD/13, TD/4, TD/3, ASME B31.8, B31.3, B31.4, etc., with a working knowledge of Gas Network standards and specifications.
- Utilize PM Group systems, procedures, and templates for mechanical and project deliverables.
- Contribute to proposals to meet customer needs.
- Ensure delivery aligns with the project execution plan and scope documents.
- Maintain customer satisfaction with guidance from the project management team.
- Promote PM Group’s capabilities across all business areas.
Qualifications- Minimum of a Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Science, or related field; relevant experience in the gas industry may be considered.
- Working towards or achieved Chartered Status with a recognized institution (e.g., IMechE, IGEM).
- Proven experience in delivering complex, multi-disciplinary design in Energy & Environment, Hydrogen, or Gas sectors.
- Knowledge of design processes and standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to produce quality work within deadlines and budget.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, with a focus on high-quality delivery.
- Proactive planner who effectively resolves project challenges.
