Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Utilities to join PM Group, working from any of our UK offices.

Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Utilities

Location: Birmingham, Manchester, or Edinburgh

Contract: Full Time – Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Design coordination of gas projects, collaborating with clients to deliver the project scope.
  • Lead the Mechanical Design and coordinate all involved disciplines.
  • Support team members by providing technical support and reviewing project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and international gas industry design codes such as IGEM/TD/1, TD/12, TD/13, TD/4, TD/3, ASME B31.8, B31.3, B31.4, and others, along with Gas Network standards.
  • Utilize PM Group systems, procedures, and templates for mechanical and project deliverables.
  • Contribute to proposals to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with the execution plan and scope documents.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction with support from the project management team.
  • Promote PM Group’s capabilities across the business.

Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Science, or related fields; relevant experience in the gas industry may be considered.
  • Progressing towards Chartered Status with a recognized institution such as IMechE or IGEM.
  • Experience in delivering complex, multi-disciplinary designs in Energy & Environment, Hydrogen, or Gas sectors.
  • Knowledge of handling and delivering design projects.
  • Strong organizational skills to produce quality work within deadlines and budget.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, with a focus on high-quality delivery.
  • Proactive planner, capable of resolving project challenges effectively.
