Responsibilities
- Managing technical tasks and leading project teams
- Preparing and developing proposals
- Understanding product development processes for powertrains and transmissions
- Defining system and component specifications
- Conducting rig and system validation testing
- Utilising instrumentation and data capture techniques
- Performing FMEAs and maintaining DVPs (Design Validation Plans)
- Employing structured problem-solving methods like 8D and DAMAIC
- Preparing and releasing test procedures
- Overseeing post-test teardowns and inspections
- Applying metrology skills
- Liaising with suppliers and managing the design release process
- Preparing and executing tests for components, systems, engines, and vehicles
- Using specialist instrumentation and prototype component manufacture
- Managing functionality and durability tests for engines and vehicles
- Conducting technical investigations and reporting on powertrain enquiries
- Preparing work proposals and planning projects
- Collaborating with engineering teams and specialists
