Job Title: Senior Mechanical Designer

Job Type: Contract

IR35 Status: Inside

Start Date: ASAP - Subject to clearance

Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate: £45ph Umbrella

Location: Various Locations

Hours of Work: 37 hrs Mon-Fri

Applicants must have experience of the following:

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Design or relevant discipline
• Experience in a detailed design environment
• Demonstrable experience in technical leading of a multi-disciplined design team
• Knowledge of CAD tools
• Communication tools
• Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice
• Nuclear experience
• Ability to obtain security clearance

Desirable:

• Member of relevant Professional Institute
• Breadth and depth of experience in a range of commercial or defence projects

Role Information:

The Senior Designer provides support and technical guidance for a team of multi-disciplined designers. The role ensures the quality of output to the required standards, covering the entire lifecycle from concept to in-service support.

This role requires a good understanding of engineering and design practices relevant to the discipline, proficiency in CAD, and strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must have specialist knowledge and substantial experience in a design subject area.
