Job summary

Progressive Global Energy in North London is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own an established product portfolio and act as the internal/external SME. You will drive improvements while ensuring compliance across manufacturing and customer specs.

The role offers hybrid working with exposure to global NPD and lifecycle management, enabling you to influence strategy and engineering best practices within a large engineering business.

Qualifications

• BEng or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) is required.
• Proven Mechanical Design Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience owning products throughout their lifecycle.
• Strong Design for Manufacture (DFM) experience.
• Experience with machined components, castings, mouldings, fabricated assemblies and welded structures.
• Experience applying engineering standards, specs and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of an established mechanical product portfolio.
• Act as the SME for assigned products.
• Drive product improvement, value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.
• Improve product reliability, manufacturability and long-term design robustness.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings and documentation.
• Support product compliance and engineering standards.
