Job summary

Harniss Building Services Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of mechanical systems for healthcare and commercial projects. You will deliver innovative, low-carbon and efficient solutions, working with a team to meet project milestones and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

The role involves detailed design, calculations, and ensuring compliance with British Standards, Building Regulations, HTM guidance where applicable, and

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical building services design.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, domestic services and public health systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit in a BIM environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed mechanical designs including schematics, ventilation, heating & cooling.
• Undertake calculations per British Standards and industry best practice.
• Ensure designs align with employer requirements and Building Regulations.
• Support the team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and review outputs.
