Job description

2025 sees MoneyGram Haas F1 Team celebrate its tenth season in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship — we're just getting started. We challenge the status quo and want you to join us.

The first American Formula 1 team since 1986, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team made an impressive debut in 2016 and continues to grow, coming off its second-best season to date.

We are a racing team, not just a corporate entity, with three headquarters: Kannapolis (US), Banbury (UK), and Maranello (Italy). Known as the 'family team' within the paddock, we offer wide visibility and meaningful contributions across the business.

We learn from each other and grow together.

General Summary:

This position reports to the Design Team Leader or their designee, based in Maranello, Italy. Responsible for designing F1 chassis components and mechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote teamwork and effective communication among all personnel and departments.
  • Design of F1 chassis components and mechanical assemblies.
  • Study and design components using solid and surface modeling and 2D drawings to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Design scope includes suspensions, wheels, hydraulic, fuel, cooling systems, and equipment for homologation and track-side management.
  • Manage design mock-up activities in the design office.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations at all venues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Design Team Leader or designee.

Education and Work Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required; Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. Minimum 6 years of work experience, with at least 3 in motorsports or F1 companies.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Solid technical background in racing cars.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Quick decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist others.

Equipment and Applications:
  • Proficiency in CATIA preferred; experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems advantageous.
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of composites.
  • Ability to follow complex regulations related to materials shipment and facility maintenance.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Must work efficiently under pressure, with flexibility for long hours, weekends, and travel. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, manual dexterity, and working with machinery, race cars, and hazardous fluids, in compliance with safety policies.

This description may not include all duties and responsibilities but reflects the primary expectations.

At MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, we value diversity, inclusion, and our employees' well-being. We offer competitive benefits, bonuses, and health programs. If you're passionate about motorsport, technology, and teamwork, consider joining us to turn your passion into your profession.

Note: All employees require security clearance to NSV standards, with support provided during the process. UK residency for the past 5 years is generally required; otherwise, an overseas criminal records check will be necessary.
