Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - North Wales
An industry-leading UK-based manufacturer is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design and engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a company known for exceptional build quality, reliability, and innovation in design and manufacturing.
The Role:As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of bespoke products and components. You'll play a key role in new product innovation, continuous improvement, and mentoring junior engineers, while working closely with manufacturing and production teams to bring concepts to life.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design of components and assemblies using 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks).
  • Manage design projects from concept through to production, ensuring quality, cost, and timelines are met.
  • Perform engineering calculations and stress analysis to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance.
  • Generate detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Conduct design reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
About You:
  • A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally within manufacturing or automotive sectors.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (particularly fabrication and welding), and trailer systems.
  • An innovative mindset with a passion for practical problem-solving and design excellence.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
