The People Pod in Derby is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our expert team on technically complex programmes in regulated sectors such as nuclear and defence. You will develop and deliver engineering designs, create 3D models and drawings, and guide concepts through to completion.

Qualifications

• Senior-level design engineering experience
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and ability to work with the mechanical team
• Understanding of manufacturing considerations in design

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engineering designs aligned with client and project requirements
• Create and maintain 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software
• Review, adapt and improve existing designs to enhance performance and manufacturability
• Ensure all work adheres to relevant industry standards, safety requirements and best practice
• Work closely with internal teams to bring concepts through to completion
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to less experienced team members
• Communicate design intent and solutions clearly to stakeholders
