Job summary

Gi Group UK is seeking an experienced Senior Special Workholding Design Engineer in Nottingham to lead bespoke mechanical designs from concept to completion, collaborating with customers and stakeholders to deliver high-precision workholding and fixturing solutions.

You will design customer-specific mechanical solutions, validate with simulations and testing, and ensure projects meet stringent technical and timing requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong background in mechanical design engineering required.
• Experience with Siemens NX and SolidWorks is essential.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to understand application requirements and engineering challenges.
• Develop and execute mechanical designs using 3D CAD software (Siemens NX and/or SolidWorks).
• Conduct simulations and testing to validate and optimise designs.
• Produce technical documentation and engineering reports.
• Manage projects to agreed deadlines and resource plans.
• Collaborate with customers, manufacturing teams and engineers to deliver projects.
