Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)
RPS is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join our team in Birmingham.
About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple sectors including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, and energy. We focus on balancing form and function, sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability. Digitalisation is central to our delivery, enabling clients to experience designs from concept through detailed drawings, supported by expertise across industries and disciplines. We help clients harmonise design drivers through engineering, architecture, and development services.
What you’ll be doing: This role offers career progression as a Senior Mechanical Engineer within a reputable team with expertise across the built environment sectors.
Who we’re looking for: Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with experience aligned to IMechE or CIBSE standards. Proven experience in designing mechanical systems from concept to detailed design, including ventilation, chilled water, cooling, water systems, heating, drainage, HVAC controls, and proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant software is essential. Understanding of Building Regulations Part L is required.
