Job summary

Elev8 Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Woolpit, Suffolk, offering £50k-£55k depending on experience. You will design bespoke pipework systems, platforms, walkways and steel structures across varied industries, from concept to installation, with site surveys and fabrication collaboration.

The role emphasizes practical engineering over routine revisions, providing a genuine opportunity to impact projects and the business, with a supportive team and long-term stability.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks experience, ideally routing and piping.
• Experience designing process pipework or similar mechanical systems.
• Background in fabricated steelwork, platforms, walkways or bespoke mechanical equipment.
• Confidence carrying out site surveys and translating requirements into practical engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke pipework systems, access platforms, walkways and structural steelwork.
• Cover projects from concept through manufacture and installation.
• Carry out site surveys and produce manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with fabrication teams throughout the project lifecycle.
