Job summary

A well-established UK engineering company based in Littlehampton is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering and over 5 years of experience utilizing 3D CAD packages, particularly in the vehicle sector. This role offers the autonomy to work on exciting projects with a stable brand known for quality. Responsibilities include assisting with intricate mechanical designs, producing industry-standard technical drawings, and collaborating closely with manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience with assembly drawings using a 3D CAD package.
• Strong experience with engineering principles and products in the vehicle sector is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical design of complicated mechanical products.
• Perform mould tool design and related calculations.
• Work closely with manufacturing team and CNC operators.
• Produce technical mechanical engineering drawings to industry standards.

Skills

3D CAD package experience (ProE, CATIA, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Inventor)

AutoCAD

Stress analysis using FEA

GDT and associated calculations

Microsoft Office (Excel)

Understanding of MRP systems

Engineering principles knowledge

Education

Degree in engineering or equivalent
