KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a Newmarket-based client. You will lead the mechanical design from concept to manufacture, using SolidWorks to create 3D models and detailed drawings, and perform FEA to validate performance.

The role emphasizes manufacturability, materials selection and robust, NATO-compliant engineering. You'll work closely with an experienced mentor and cross-functional teams to deliver complex automotive robot systems

Qualifications

• Senior mechanical design engineer with proven experience from concept through to manufacture.
• Strong SolidWorks CAD skills with ability to create assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and fabrication methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design function from concept through to successful manufacture.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models using SolidWorks and generate manufacturing drawings and system architectures.
• Perform structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate performance under real-world conditions.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet NATO compliance standards for end customers.
