Chroma Recruitment seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Accrington to lead mechanical design for complex machinery from concept to detail, ensuring compliance with the Machinery Directive. You will use 3D CAD (Inventor or similar) and drive project specifications, timelines and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• HNC/D or degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Proficient in 3D CAD using Inventor or similar.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and application.
• Experience in special purpose machinery or industrial equipment design.
• Desirable: drive systems/motors and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of mechanical design for complex machinery from concept to detail.
• Ensure designs comply with the Machinery Directive and safety standards.
• Perform 3D CAD work, set project specifications, timelines and risk assessments (FMEA).
• Manage workloads and take the lead on multiple projects.
