Responsibilities

  • Produce outline and detailed mechanical designs that are cost-effective and meet client specifications.
  • Check all design deliverables including specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations.
  • Ensure designs comply with CDM Regulations.
  • Utilize standard designs and practices wherever possible.
  • Deliver design stage outputs within the agreed timescale and budget.
  • Coordinate design outputs across all technical disciplines.
  • Prepare monthly project status reports.
  • Establish working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives.

Job description

MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our Central framework. Based in the Hattersley Office, you will ensure that cost–effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are designed, approved, and handed over to the construction teams in line with programme expectations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Producing outline and detailed mechanical designs that are cost–effective, meet client specifications, and can be efficiently purchased, installed, and commissioned.

  2. Producing and checking all design deliverables including specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations.

  3. Ensuring designs are completed in accordance with CDM Regulations.

  4. Utilizing standard designs and practices wherever possible.

  5. Delivering the design stage outputs within the agreed timescale and budget.

  6. Coordinating design outputs across all technical disciplines.

  7. Preparing monthly project status reports.

  8. Establishing working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency.
