Nicholas Associates Group is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Sheffield. Nicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to work with an innovative, cutting edge client in Sheffield.
The Role
In this role, reporting to the Engineering Director, you will have technical responsibility for design of plant and packaging into standard shipping containers. We are seeking a candidate with strong CAD and organisational skills to manage the parts and assembly drawings of our client's systems.
Responsibilities
The Senior Design Engineer will be a key member of the technical team. They will be responsible for:
Qualifications, experience and skills
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Design engineering (or equivalent) or 5 years of experience in a related field.
Minimum 5 years working in an engineering design environment.
Must be comfortable working in a fast–paced environment developing first–of–kind technology.
Experience in relevant software packages for drawing creation and management (e.g. SolidWorks or AutoCAD 3D).
Previous experience working in a start–up.
Experience working in confined spaces or on containerised designs.
Experience generating CE/UKCA files.
Preferred skills:
Strong problem–solving skills, comfortable with cutting–edge technology development.
Structured/ organised methods of working and file management.
Pragmatic and detail conscious.
Adept at writing concise technical documents.
