Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Inventor)

Salary: Up to £55,000 DoE

Perks: Hybrid Working / Early finish on a Friday!

We're hiring a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our fast-growing UK manufacturing team. Over the last 24 months, we\'ve seen exceptional success and are continuing to expand. This role is central to shaping our next phase of growth.

Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you\'ll take full ownership of projects, lead dynamic design teams, and deliver cutting-edge mechanical solutions. This isn\'t just another design role, it\'s a chance to have a direct impact on the products we create and how we deliver them.

We\'re looking for someone who doesn\'t just know Inventor, someone who lives in Inventor and can use it as a tool to bring complex designs to life.

Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working, giving you the best of both worlds: collaborative office time and focused design time at home.

What You\'ll Be Doing
  • Lead projects from concept through to delivery, reporting directly to the Technical Director.
  • Design, model, and refine mechanical systems in Autodesk Inventor (non-negotiable).
  • Create and manage detailed drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and production ready.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, and wider teams to refine solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, guiding projects and mentoring engineers.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in design processes.
Must-Haves
  • Strong mechanical engineering background (degree or equivalent).
  • Extensive Inventor experience, this is essential, and we need you to hit the ground running.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical design, with a focus on sheet metal and complex assemblies.
  • Solid knowledge of DFM and practical manufacturing processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of BOMs and engineering documentation.
  • Track record of leading projects and teams.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to deliver under pressure.
