JOB- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £40,000 to £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Premier Engineering is working with a growing engineering and manufacturing company based in Harwich, who are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding design team. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the full lifecycle of bespoke mechanical systems and engineered solutions.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Experience working in a mechanical design engineering position within a manufacturing or engineering company
• Strong 3D CAD skills – ideally SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar
• Experience with fabrication, assemblies, sheet metal, or machinery
• A good understanding of design for manufacture (DFM) principles
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Creating detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings
• Producing 3D models, assemblies, and BOMs
• Supporting the development of new products and improvement of existing ones
• Liaising with production, purchasing, and project teams
• Ensuring designs meet quality, cost, and timescale objectives
• Participating in design reviews and supporting prototype builds and testing
