With a collaborative, quality-driven culture and a focus on innovation, this is an opportunity to be part of a team delivering real-world impact in safety-critical environments.
This isn't just another design role — it's a chance to take ownership of technically diverse projects, influence key decisions, and drive engineering excellence from concept through to completion.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the design and development of cutting-edge mechanical systems for complex, safety-critical projects.
- Create high-quality, manufacturable designs using SolidWorks and other advanced CAD tools.
- Produce engineering documentation including technical drawings, calculations, and reports aligned with international standards.
- Own small to medium-scale projects or lead packages on major multi-disciplinary programmes.
- Ensure technical outputs meet all functional, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure designs align with project goals and client needs.
- Act as a key technical point of contact, sharing progress, insights, and guidance with the Engineering Manager and stakeholders.
- Provide hands-on support to production, testing, and quality teams during design verification and delivery.
- Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
Process Improvement & Quality
- Champion design best practices and lean engineering principles including 5S and waste reduction.
- Continuously seek ways to improve systems, tools, and workflows for better project outcomes.
What You Bring:
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (HNC/HND with strong experience also welcome)
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in the nuclear, defence, or other regulated sectors
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D CAD
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, safety requirements, and documentation
- Detail-oriented with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership capabilities
Why Join?
