Job summary

FC Engineering Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a Newport-based engineering business to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will design and develop mechanical components, assemblies and products from concept through to manufacture, producing detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.

The role requires strong CAD experience, understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to manage workloads to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar
• A relevant mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent experience
• Strong experience using 3D CAD
• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and organisational skills
• The ability to manage your own workload and work to project deadlines
• Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
• Developing mechanical designs from initial concept through to manufacture
• Designing components, assemblies and mechanisms
• Producing manufacturing drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials
• Working closely with manufacturing and production teams
• Supporting prototype development, testing and design improvements

FC Engineering Recruitment is working with an established engineering business in Newport who are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is an opportunity for a mechanical design engineer to work on a range of engineering projects, developing and improving mechanical products and systems from concept through to manufacture.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies and products.

Key responsibilities

• Producing detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
• Developing mechanical designs from initial concept through to manufacture
• Designing components, assemblies and mechanisms
• Producing manufacturing drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials
• Working closely with manufacturing and production teams
