Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

CREM Recruitment are working with an excellent local engineering company looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.

This role is pivotal to the continued growth of the business, working within a small team, reporting directly to the Production Engineering Manager. You will take full responsibility for your own project work in addition to monitoring and advising on projects within the rest of the team.

This role is an autonomous role within a team and will include the following responsibilities:

1. Produce detailed designs using 3D CAD (Solidworks would be an advantage).
2. Use FEA tools to simulate real life behaviours.
3. Oversee and manage prototype production and testing.
4. Act as lead engineer on projects and bids.
5. Produce drawings and documentation to support development and reverse engineered updates of products to ISO and BS8888 standards.
6. Continuous improvement of tools and processes.

As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be able to demonstrate the following:

1. Ability to Lead Project Teams.
2. Ability to work autonomously.
3. Minimum Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
4. Minimum 5 years experience in Product Design, Development and Engineering.
5. Experience of the full project life cycle from concept to launch.
