Talent Motion is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for Leeds. You will design mechanical building services across RIBA stages 1–7 and act as the client’s representative, ensuring design integrity and value.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of sectors within private and public fields and a path to senior client-facing responsibilities. You will contribute to decarbonisation delivery, energy audits, and lifecycle costings, while benefiting from a supportive, less pressurised

Responsibilities

• Mechanical building services detail design across RIBA stages 1–7.
• Prepare feasibility and scheme design reports.

• Develop energy audits and management plans.
• Assist with life cycle costing and performance monitoring.
• Support refurbishments, fit-outs and due diligence reports.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Consultancy) - Leeds - to £60,000 + Package

Talent Motion specialise in transitioning experienced M&E Design Engineers from traditional M&E design consultancy into client-side Building Consultancy.

You will design across all RIBA stages 1-7, ranging from feasibility studies to full detailed design, working across a broad range of sectors within the private and public fields.

With a 20 strong M&E team the business traditionally focused on all aspects of M&E Surveying, but over recent years they have invested growth into their M&E Design, Project Management and Decarbonisation service offering.

As a global Building Consultancy, the main differential from the traditional design consultancies is that they have access to their own client base and do not have to competitively tender for projects, resulting in a less pressurised environment and providing the financial resources to recruit into the M&E team when needed rather than expecting employees to shoulder more pressure and work excessive hours.

Essentially, a client-side role that will give you direct access to clients, working on the client’s behalf as part of the client team as the client’s representative. Offering you direct access to clients thinking and an unprecedented insight into the client’s psyche and the drivers behind commercial property ownership.
