Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Havant - c£50,000 - £60,000
Are you looking for a new challenge or to step up into a senior design role?

We are partnered with a marine manufacturing company based in Havant, a company we have a proven track record in recruiting for including the manager that this role reports into. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical design engineer looking for a more senior role where we can help mentor the team.
This company has a known reputation within the marine industry manufacturing high quality products for a range of yachts and boats. They have a large design department, and this particular position of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be joining the NPD team helping with product development and getting products delivered on time and to budget.

The job role:
As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will work within a multi-disciplined and fast paced design office and have the following job roles and responsibilities:

1. Create mechanical designs of products using CAD software - this company uses Creo though training on Creo can be provided.
2. Design through concept to production with full product ownership.
3. Create advanced 3D modelling of new parts and assemblies.

Requirements:
For the position of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, ideally you will have the following experience and skills:

1. Proficient with 3D CAD software.
2. Good understanding of mechanical calculations, ECO/ECN processes as well as tolerance analysis and stress analysis and FEA.
3. Experience and exposure to metallic processes in particular; sheet metal, castings, extrusions, fabrication. Injection moulding would also be useful but not essential.
4. A degree is not necessary for this role.
5. Candidates are advised that a portfolio of some of their designs or previous successes will be useful at least to present at interview stage.
