Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

We’re supporting a fast-growing, independent building services consultancy in central London to find a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. Established over 8 years ago, this business has built a strong reputation for quality engineering across the residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and education sectors — and has recently expanded into Dubai and the US.

With a full project pipeline and increasing demand, they are looking for an experienced mechanical designer who can hit the ground running, working flexibly and confidently within a close-knit team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead mechanical design packages across a wide variety of building projects, from early-stage concepts through to delivery
• Produce calculations, specifications, reports and tender documents to a high technical standard
• Attend coordination and design team meetings (virtually and in person as required)
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors and fellow engineers to drive projects forward
• Support junior engineers and contribute to a positive, quality-driven team culture

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in mechanical building services design, ideally within UK consultancy environments
• A solid understanding of UK building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and modern sustainable design practices
• Comfortable managing your own workload and contributing as part of a small, growing team
• Strong communication skills and confidence in attending site and client meetings as needed
