Qualifications

  • Proven mechanical design engineering experience at a senior level.
  • Aiming to become Chartered by CIBSE or IMechE.

Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer - Our vacancy

We are currently seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding offices in London, Manchester, Farnborough, or Cambridge. The main responsibilities include delivering large, complex, and niche projects on time and to the highest technical standards, along with providing management support.

You will need to be a team player working within a multidisciplinary group, assisting senior engineers and encouraging junior members, as well as having the initiative to work independently. Responsibilities include monitoring quality control, preparing calculations, specifications, and drawings, ensuring compliance with client briefs. You will also have opportunities in business development, team management, and client relations.

We'd like to hear from you if you -

Are enthusiastic, with relevant mechanical design qualifications (ideally a degree in Mechanical Design), and are a Chartered Engineer or aiming to become Chartered by CIBSE or IMechE.

You should have proven mechanical design engineering experience at a senior level, working on commercial developments (new build, refurbishments, fit-outs), and ideally experience in laboratories, light industrial, or hotel developments. Strong knowledge of Building Services Engineering Systems, including their performance, application, and operation, gained in a design office, is essential.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, approachable, with excellent client-facing and communication skills, and able to take initiative. Experience with D&B projects is advantageous.
