We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our established engineering team, specialising in the design and development of advanced industrial automation solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to work on challenging projects across diverse manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects from concept through to production
• Develop innovative automation and process equipment solutions
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, controls, and project management
• Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Support manufacturing and assembly processes
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
• Liaise with clients to understand requirements and present design solutions

Essential Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5+ years' experience in mechanical design engineering
• Strong background in industrial machinery design
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks highly preferred)
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards (LOLER, CE marking, etc.)
• Experience with FEA analysis and design calculations
• Strong project management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Skills

• Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Knowledge of control systems integration
• Previous experience in materials handling or industrial automation
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards
