Job summary

Reevr in Southampton is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own mechanical concepts from initial idea through to manufacture, installation and commissioning.

You will work on bespoke industrial machinery and complex systems, with a hands-on approach and a strong focus on DFMA, collaborating with electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers and customers to deliver fully working solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong 3D CAD experience.
• Experience designing machinery or bespoke equipment.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing and DFMA/DFA.
• Experience with mechanical systems and integration.
• Hands-on, practical approach and ownership of projects.
• Experience with Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design projects from concept to manufacture, installation and commissioning.
• Work on bespoke industrial machinery and complex mechanical systems.

They’re growing and looking for aSenior Mechanical Design Engineerto join their close-knit, multidisciplinary engineering team.

The Opportunity

You’ll have ownership of mechanical design projects frominitial concept through to manufacture, installation and commissioning.

You’ll be working on:

• Bespoke industrial machinery
• Complex mechanical systems
• Material handling & conveyor systems
• Sheet metal, frames, enclosures & guarding
• Pneumatics, hydraulics, motors & drive systems
• Mechanical/electrical integration
• New designs and continuous improvements

You'll work closely with electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers and customers to turn ideas into fully working engineering solutions.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoyssolving problems and designing something different every day.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong 3D CAD experience
• Experience designing machinery or bespoke equipment
• Good knowledge of manufacturing and DFM/DFA
• Experience with mechanical systems and integration
• A practical, hands-on approach
• The ability to take ownership of projects

Experience withSolid Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor or Creowould be beneficial.

Knowledge of machinery safety, commissioning, compliance or technical leadership would also be advantageous.
