Job summary

The People Pod in Derby is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Tooling) to lead 3D/2D development in Siemens NX and deliver full lifecycle tooling solutions. You will manage design data in Teamcenter, produce assemblies and BOMs, and ensure GD&T conformance to ASME Y14.5 / BS standards.

You will contribute to safety compliance, support design reviews, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on high-stakes UK programmes with long-term potential.

Qualifications

• Strong Siemens NX skills for 3D modelling and 2D detailing.
• Proven tooling, jigs, fixtures and lifting equipment design experience.
• Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems.
• Solid understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DfM).
• Confident with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 / BS standards.

What You'll Bring

Essential

• Strong Siemens NX (3D + 2D)
• Proven tooling / jigs / fixtures / lifting equipment design experience
• Teamcenter or similar PLM experience
• Solid DfM understanding
• Confident with GD&T

Desirable

• Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defence, heavy engineering, oil & gas
• FEA exposure (Abaqus, ANSYS, MathCAD or hand calcs)
• Manufacturing or toolmaker background
