Job description

Our client is one of the world leading manufacturer of automated machinery and due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of automated machinery. Overseeing projects from concept, design and through to build and you will provide technical support with machine installations and commissioning.

Duties will include but is not limited to the following;

  • Produce design drawings for equipment orders and product development projects
  • Effective project management and effective drawings control
  • Attend client specification meetings in UK and occasionally overseas.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for internal and external customers
  • Produce parts lists, assembly drawings and detail drawings

Candidate:

Experienced in the design of electro–mechanical equipment using 3D modelling skills (Solid Works) you will have at least 5 years experience in a similar design engineer role.

You will have HNC or higher qualification in mechanical engineering and / or design.

You will have a good understanding of packaging machinery or sheet metal fabrication and you will have the confidence to take the technical lead on some larger projects.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours
