Job summary

365 Recruit is seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Manager to join a major construction project in Brentford. You will oversee the commissioning of mechanical building services and ensure systems are tested, commissioned and handed over in line with programme, design and standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership across HVAC, ventilation, heating and water systems, with responsibility for planning, coordinating subcontractors, reviewing test records and ensuring safe delivery

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Commissioning Manager on major construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and commissioning procedures.
• Experience managing subcontractors and specialist commissioning teams.
• Understanding of HVAC, water systems, and BMS controls.
• Experience through full commissioning lifecycle from installation to handover.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, specifications, and commissioning schedules.
• Understanding of commissioning programmes, QA and handover requirements.
• Excellent communication and coordination with contractors and client teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the mechanical commissioning process from pre-commissioning to final handover.
• Develop and manage commissioning programmes, plans and schedules.
• Coordinate commissioning activities across mechanical subcontractors and engineers.
• Oversee commissioning of HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, water and related plant.
• Review commissioning docs, method statements and test records.
• Ensure systems installed correctly and ready for testing.
• Witness testing and verify results meet specs.
• Identify issues and coordinate resolution with subcontractors.
• Monitor progress against programme and report risks.
• Coordinate interfaces between mechanical and electrical systems, BMS.
• Maintain records of actions and progress; ensure documentation is completed.
