Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Chargehand for full-time contract work across Scotland and the UK. The role involves leading mechanical installation activities, coordinating with site teams, and ensuring QEHS procedures are followed on major power and substation projects.

Candidates should have apprenticeship training plus 2+ years on energy, oil & gas, or construction sites, with CSCS and safety certifications. 50-hour weeks, 10-hour shifts, immediate opportunities now.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained with C&G / NVQ Level 3
• Experience participating in mechanical and electrical installation activities preferred.
• Experience working within a substation environment, with an understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support site teams with mechanical and electrical installation activities.
• Complete task cards and associated on-site quality documentation as directed by the Site Supervisor.
• Work in accordance with applicable QEHS procedures, including control of access to allocated work areas.
