We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical building services design engineer to join our growing practice at either Principal or Senior level depending on experience. Engineering Systems Design Ltd (ESD Ltd), established in 2009, specializes in building services engineering projects worldwide, including commercial, research, residential, retail, and utilities sectors. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will manage a range of projects, offering a challenging and rewarding career development path.

You will:

• Be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, primarily focusing on commercial, public sector, and hospitality projects.
• Engage with clients on commercial and technical matters.
• Participate actively in business development.
• Assist in project planning and resource management.
• Lead the mechanical design team, coordinate project delivery, and mentor junior engineers.
• Support technical aspects of projects and liaise with related engineering disciplines.
• Contribute to commercial management, bidding, and client relationship development.
• Create detailed engineering designs using Designbuilder, Designmaster, AutoCAD, and Revit, ensuring compliance with standards, including energy efficiency and low or net zero carbon requirements.

Ideal candidates will have several years of UK-based experience across multiple sectors, including new build, refurbishment, and retrofit projects, with project values up to £100m+.

Requirements include:

• BEng or MEng degree qualification
• Chartered Engineer status
• Membership of professional bodies such as MCIBSE or MIMechE, or working towards it
• At least 5, preferably 10, years of UK-based postgraduate experience in design consultancy
• Exceptional skills in mechanical building services design, with awareness of legislation and best practices
• Strong commercial awareness and experience in project financial monitoring
• Good project management skills for handling multiple projects
• Enthusiasm, confidence, flexibility, and a positive attitude
