BAM construction is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer in the Southern division for our Building Services business.

Your mission

About the role:

• Input at tender / cost planning stage including evaluating M&E Consultants specifications and tender drawings, buildability reviews, alternative design philosophy, logistics, and planning.
• Manage the design team to meet their obligations, organize and chair design workshops.
• Monitor the production of M&E design information, ensuring interfaces with architects and structural engineers meet the Employer's Requirements.
• Raise, manage, and monitor 'Technical Queries' and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Contribute to tender lists for specialist M&E sub-contractors and major plant/equipment.
• Evaluate supply chain tender returns and quotations for compliance and value.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers for order completion, specification compliance, and interface with electrical and construction elements.
• Engineer contractor responsibilities such as fan/pump sizing, bracketry, expansion, etc.
• Manage technical submissions for Mechanical Plant & Equipment.
• Oversee delivery of plant and equipment, including factory witness testing.
• Manage production and delivery of M&E installation drawings within schedule and budget.
• Check and approve installation drawings for compliance, engineering practices, operation, maintainability, health & safety, and commissioning readiness.
• Manage CDP specialists such as Sprinklers, BMS, etc.
• Prepare and monitor client and design changes.
• Coordinate with construction team, including site inspections.

Who are we looking for?

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage workload and time effectively.
• Capable of working independently, leading, and being a team member.
• Good knowledge of Mechanical systems, equipment, and design/coordination requirements.
• Proficient in IT tools like Excel & Word; training provided for other software.
• Engineering Degree or equivalent, with 5+ years in construction and building services.
• Management experience is advantageous.
• Enthusiastic, determined, adaptable, and flexible.
