Job summary
Qualifications
A degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
Experience in complex engineering or product development environments.
Solid understanding of systems engineering principles including requirements management, interface definition, verification & validation, trade studies and the Systems Engineering V-Model.
Experience using ALM or requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, CodeBeamer, Polarion or Jama Connect.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both specialists and non-specialists.
Experience within aerospace, defence or another safety-critical engineering environment would be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
Develop and improve the organisation's systems engineering methodology using recognised frameworks such as INCOSE, NASA Systems Engineering Handbook and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 & 29148.
Own and configure the requirements management and ALM environment, ensuring robust requirements capture, architecture, traceability, baselining and change control.
Develop scalable digital engineering processes that can be proven on development programmes before being deployed across the wider business.
Build end-to-end traceability between customer needs, system requirements and physical product architecture.
Coach and mentor engineers to develop systems engineering capability across multidisciplinary teams.
Produce process documentation, training material and practical examples to drive adoption of best practice.
Work alongside design, manufacturing and project teams to ensure systems engineering principles are embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
