Job summary

Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a psychologist to join the Lighthouse Maternal Mental Health Service in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. The post involves delivering complex psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for families affected by birth trauma, loss, or fear of pregnancy/childbirth, in collaboration with midwives and other services.

The role requires autonomous practice, leadership, and involvement in training, supervision and research.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology with two or more therapies and lifespan development.
• Current registration/accreditation with appropriate body.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Post-doctoral training in additional specialised areas of psychology.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychology service with complex mental health needs and deliver specialist assessments and interventions.
• Autonomously adhere to professional guidelines and service policies.
• Develop field of expertise and contribute to training, supervision and governance.
• Supervise junior psychologists and provide peer supervision as appropriate.
• Involve training placements for psychologists in training.
• Apply research methods for audits, policy and service development.
