Senior Materials Planner - Hampshire

My client is a world leader in specialised electronic technologies. They are looking for a Senior Materials Planner based in Hampshire, to join their growing team.

The Senior Materials Planner will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the coordination and execution of the company’s operational plans and logistics operations. This role ensures seamless collaboration with the supply chain team to align production plans with material availability and logistics efficiency. The manager will work to optimise inventory management, ensure timely delivery of products, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the supply chain team to align production plans with material availability and customer demand.
2. Develop and implement production schedules using the ERP system to optimise capacity and meet customer requirements.
3. Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
4. Manage inventory levels to balance stock availability with minimising obsolescence and excess.
5. Coordinate with procurement to address material shortages and align with production schedules.
6. Monitor and improve logistics processes to enhance delivery performance and reduce costs.
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
8. Prepare and present reports on planning and logistics performance to senior management.
9. Drive cross-functional collaboration to resolve operational challenges and implement solutions.

Candidate Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of production planning, logistics, and inventory management principles.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and supply chain management software.
• Analytical skills to interpret data.
• CPIM and/or CLTD certifications are advantageous.
