Job Description:

At Imperial Business School, our research doesn’t sit on shelves; it shapes industries, informs policy, and drives innovation around the world. We’re looking for a Senior Marketing Manager (Academic and Research) to help bring this work to life for wider audiences. In this role, you’ll deliver strategic, high-quality marketing and communications that showcase the insight, influence, and expertise of our academic community. Through impactful storytelling and content, you’ll support the Business School’s mission to be a world-leading voice at the intersection of business and technology.

In this highly collaborative and strategic role, you’ll work closely with academics, research centres, and marketing colleagues to ensure Imperial’s world-leading research reaches and resonates with the right audiences. From translating complex ideas into clear, compelling stories to curating thought leadership campaigns and supporting high-impact events, you’ll help amplify the Business School’s academic voice and strengthen its global reputation. Your work will help ensure that the Business School’s research and expertise are clearly communicated, accessible, and relevant to audiences beyond academia.

  • Deliver integrated marketing and communications plans that highlight the Business School’s academic research, thought leadership, and global relevance.
  • Collaborate with faculty and research centres to develop compelling, accessible content that brings complex ideas to broader audiences.
  • Create and curate high-quality marketing campaigns and content that showcase the Business School’s expertise.
  • Support the implementation of the Business School’s thought leadership strategy, ensuring alignment with wider institutional goals.
  • Advise academics and research centres on best practices for sharing their work through blogs, media, and social channels.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure research content is integrated into School-wide campaigns and external-facing platforms.
  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or thought leadership—ideally in higher education.
  • A strong track record in developing and delivering integrated strategies that promote academic or specialist content to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills, with the ability to translate complex information into accessible and engaging content.
  • Confidence in working with senior stakeholders and advising subject-matter experts on communication strategy and best practice.
  • Strong collaborative skills and experience of working across departments, disciplines, or functions.
  • Experience working in a Business School or within a university or research environment is desirable but not essential.
  • The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity.
  • Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 41 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes).
  • Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day one, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities, and a cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Interest-free season ticket loan schemes for travel.
  • Be part of a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work culture with various resources to support your personal and professional growth.
