We aim to expand profitably in this sector, and we are looking for a Senior Marine Underwriter to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone eager to contribute to the continued success and growth of our Marine division.

About the job:

This position is crucial for our Marine business's ongoing success. You will be part of the UK regional underwriting team, comprising thirteen professionals. The team collaborates closely with our London retail and wholesale teams, working from the Aviva London office and Lloyds of London.

The primary focus will be on UK-domiciled business, with capabilities to write globally. Experience in underwriting cargo and freight liability is essential, offering opportunities to enhance your technical expertise within a supportive team environment.

You will be responsible for:

1. Ensuring that all written and renewed Marine business aligns with strategic plans.
2. Achieving volume, quality, and profitability targets to support business growth.
3. Developing relationships with brokers and clients, both internally and externally.
4. Managing your assigned risks in accordance with performance metrics and governance standards.

Skills and experience required:

• Proven experience in underwriting cargo and freight liability insurance.
• Ability to manage a portfolio with a solid understanding of key metrics.
• Strong relationship-building skills with brokers.
• Results-driven with effective planning and prioritization abilities.
