Your new job
Working as a Senior US Marine Cargo Broking Technician, you will be employed by a Specialist Global Insurance and Reinsurance broker in the City, offering international reinsurance facilities across all classes of insurance and providing broking support to direct clients. The company has reinvested and developed into a global broker specializing in multi-class insurance and reinsurance broking in both emerging and developed markets, including sectors like power and renewable energy, healthcare, private clients, cyber solutions, financial institutions, and credit and political risk. An opportunity has arisen within their cargo division for a Senior Marine Cargo Broking Technician to collaborate closely with the brokers.
Your new role
In this role, you will handle US Marine Cargo risks, overseeing all technical insurance aspects of the EP&R business. Your responsibilities include broking placement and administration for clients and prospects in the EP&R sector. You will produce all broking and client documentation, manage multi-class technical administration of transactional broking, and handle tasks such as slip production, premium worksheets, market presentations, cover notes, wordings, invoicing, mid-term adjustments, declarations, and claims support. You will broker reinsurance, wholesale, and retail clients to international, London, and Lloyd's reinsurers, insurers, and MGAs, providing management information to monitor activities. Additionally, you will assist in creating, checking, and maintaining accurate documentation and records on the company's systems.
What you will need to succeed
Previous experience as a broking technician handling US or international Marine Cargo risks is essential. Ideally, you will be CERT CII qualified or working towards it. You should have good knowledge of the London insurance market related to cargo risks, experience with MRC slip production, and familiarity with technical documentation. You must be self-motivated, capable of working independently in the absence of senior management, and able to collaborate effectively within a team.
