Overview

Reporting to the Manufacturing Director the Senior Manufacturing Technician will be part of the senior manufacturing team and lead technicians on a range of manufacturing activities. This will include the manufacturing tolerances for robotic hardware builds and testing, relevant documentation, and manufacturing process documentation. Processes would adhere to required safety and compliance standards, and a key responsibility will be that builds will be consistently delivered to high specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technicians on a range of manufacturing activities, under the direction of the Manufacturing Director.
  • Ensure manufacturing tolerances for robotic hardware builds and testing are met.
  • Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation and process documentation.
  • Ensure processes comply with safety and compliance standards.
  • Deliver builds consistently to high specifications.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable manufacturing experience in low-volume, high-value engineering products involving electromechanical components (ideally within robotics).
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity of 2 to 6 people, including recruiting and managing a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills, with evidence of adaptability and understanding complex engineering.
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines.

  • The role will require close contact with suppliers and manufacturing partners and the ability to build relationships.
  • Because of the hands-on nature of some processes and high quality expectations, travel to partners may be required; a valid driving licence and own vehicle are preferred.
