A leading manufacturing firm in Ascot is seeking a skilled individual to oversee the manufacture of diagnostic kits while providing mentorship to the manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess A levels or equivalent in Science or Mathematics, alongside industrial experience in a lab or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of GMP and GLP standards is essential. This role involves various responsibilities including data analysis, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.

  • Report low stock levels.
  • Act as Deputy when Manufacturing Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Review documentation and maintain electronic worksheets.

Job description

The main purpose of the role will cover the manufacture of plates, large scale buffers, and reagents within a well-maintained manufacturing environment, providing guidance and support to Manufacturing Technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions of the job are listed below. Other responsibilities may also be assigned.

  • Guide, mentor, and train manufacturing team as required.
  • Manufacture of all diagnostic kit components: Microtitre plate coating, bulk buffer, reagents, positive and negative controls.
  • Data analysis and interpretation.
  • Support the Analytical Team as required.
  • Calibration and maintenance of all relevant lab equipment.
  • Maintain the lab to GMP/GLP standards.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety procedures.
  • Report low stock levels to Supervisor/Manager.
  • Perform manufacturing tasks assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
  • Act as Deputy when Manufacturing Supervisor is not on site.
  • Review documentation and maintain electronic worksheets.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide guidance and support to TP Technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications include education to A levels or equivalent, preferably in Science or Mathematics. Industrial experience is essential; a scientific degree is desirable. Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment is preferred. Knowledge of GMP and GLP is required. Skills include analytical thinking, attention to detail, teamwork, organization, procedure adherence, time management, mentoring, and basic IT skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Wearing laboratory coats, appropriate footwear, and safety equipment as required. Working hours are 8-5 with flexibility as necessary.
