Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE

The main purpose of the role will cover the manufacture of plates, large scale buffers and reagents within a well-maintained manufacturing environment, providing guidance and support to Manufacturing Technicians

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions of the job are listed below. Other responsibilities may also be assigned.

• Guide, mentor, and train manufacturing team as and when required

• Manufacture of all diagnostic kit components: Microtitre plate coating, bulk buffer and reagents, positive and negative controls

• Data Analysis and Interpretation

• Support the Analytical Team as and when required • Calibration and workplace maintenance of all relevant lab equipment

• Maintaining the lab to a GMP/GLP standard

• Awareness of Health & Safety procedures • Reporting low stock levels to Supervisor/ Manager

• Perform any manufacturing tasks assigned by Supervisor/Manager

• Act as Deputy when Manufacturing Supervisor is not on site

• Review appropriate documentation and maintain electronic worksheets

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To provide guidance and support to TP Technicians

QUALIFICATIONS

The following are the qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.Educated to A levels or equivalent preferably in Science or Mathematics

Appropriate industrial experience essential though a scientific based degree is desirable Job requirements

• 12 months experience working in a laboratory-based environment or manufacturing experience desirable

• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)

• Analytically/mathematically minded

• Excel skills essential

• Attention to detail and pride in work

• Works proactively both individually and in a team

• Good organisation

• Ability to follow procedures

• Ability to manage time effectively

• Good communication skills

• Train and mentor staff

• IT literate and able to carry out basic tasks on computer

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Wearing laboratory coats, appropriate footwear and relevant work safety equipment as required

• Working hours are 8-5, flexibility is required where necessary
